GREEN FREEQ AWARD
THE AWARD.
JMI's Green Freeq Music Award (previously the Greenote Award) was created in order to spotlight young musicians actively contributing to environmental causes and awareness around climate change.
The aim of the award is both to celebrate these amazing artists using their platform to fight for our planet and the diverse life it sustains and, at the same time, build a network of ecologically conscious artivists who inspire, awaken, and spread joy through the rhythms of hope, creating a space of understanding and connection with our planet.
Using the power of music to raise global consciousness around some of the most important issues affecting the climate and the environment, music connects and sustains us in order to take on global challenges, together!
On top of the recognition, winners (young artists under 30) of the JMI Green Note Award will also receive a €1,000 cash prize to support their music and environmental efforts, as well as a joint media campaign to give the project the visibility it deserves.
The award is based on three criteria: music quality, music and environmental relevance/impact.
